Pair of Rowel Spurs — Unknown

The heel band of each of these silvered spurs is decorated on each side with a scaled serpent holding an acorn in its mouth, its eyes inlaid with red glass. The neck, holding the rowel, is shaped as a serpent holding an acorn as well, emerging from the mouth of a bearded face placed on the heel. Each terminal is pierced for fixing each spur directly on a boot's heel.
