Design for a female red Arabic costume, one of 34 Costume designs for N. Evreinoff's play 'The Chief Thing', produced at the Theater Guild, New York City, 1926. Her costume consists of a black bodice with dotted borders and several long panels over a long, red skirt with black stripes and a purple border. A purple panel with vegetal motifs hangs from the front of her waist, and a blue scarf hangs from her neck. Another blue scarf, partially covering her head, is extended behind her back and held with her hands open to the sides. Flat, pointed-toe, black shoes peek out from the bottom of the skirt.
