Earliest of Sloan's etchings, done when he was seventeen years old. The print is a copy of J.M.W. Turner's 'Norham Castle on the Tweed', of which two sepia drawings, two watercolors, and the etching, no. 57 of the 'Liber Studiorum' are known, see: Morse 1969, p. 22.
