This drawing was made by Susan Alice Dashwood, a descendant of Sir James Dashwood (1715-1779), 2nd baronet, who built Kirtlington Park―a house whose elegant Rococo dining room is now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Here we see the grounds in 1900, with cows grazing near trees that frame the house. The estate belonged at this date to the artist's brother Sir George John Egerton Dashwood, 6th baronet (1851–1933), who would sell it in 1909 to the earl of Leven and Melville.
