A Prologue written by Jean Charlot in both Spanish and English describes the beauty of the prints and Zalce’s unique way of creating them: by scraping ink off a blackened lithographic stone to reveal the light areas. The bilingual text testifies to the aspiration that the portfolio would appeal to an international audience. All eight lithographs are signed and dated (1945) by Zalce and they were printed by José Sánchez in the workshop of the Taller de Grafica Popular (Fine Arts division). The edition was limited to 100 copies. The number of this copy is not recorded in the space provided for this information on the inside cover. The prints are housed in the original purple buckram casing with the letterpress Prologue forming the first sheet.
