Figure of a Standing Man with a Long Kilt

This striding man with a shaved head wears a long kilt with a broad, stiff front panel. His arms fall to the sides, and his hands are fisted. The statue was likely deposited in a burial, or perhaps stood in a cult chamber, where it received offerings on behalf of the deceased. Based on its size, style, and quality, it represents a mid-level member of Egyptian society, who had the means to commission a well-made statue of himself.
