Mace — Unknown

This delicately crafted mace, with its head of silver-gilt pierced with tulip designs, was not a battle weapon; it was probably an insignia of command in the Ottoman army. Similar examples were taken as booty after the unsuccessful Turkish siege of Vienna in 1683.
