Reverend George Bridges traveled the Mediterranean between 1846 and 1852, producing some seventeen hundred paper negatives of important sites. This one, folded and sent to his instructor Talbot, shows the recently discovered bas-relief sculpture of Athena Nike on the Acropolis.
