Peter Sekaer

Peter Sekaer was a New Deal artist known primarily for his photographs for the Rural Electrification Administration and the U.S. Housing Authority. A commercial artist and member of the board of the Art Students League in the 1930s, Sekaer was a friend of Walker Evans and traveled with him on Evans' first tour of the American South for the Resettlement Administration. He recorded many of the same subjects as Evans, albeit from a point of view inflected by his Danish background.
