Untitled — Gregory Crewdson

Crewdson made this image while in the MFA program at Yale University, when he went door-to-door in small towns in Massachusetts with just his camera and a few lights and asked the strangers who answered if he could take their pictures. The resulting photographs hover somewhere between the documentary and the cinematic—the area that the artist continues to explore nearly three decades later.
