Terracotta neck-amphora (jar)

Obverse, Dionysos, satyr and maenad Reverse, man courting youth The decoration of this little amphora complements the Dionysiac themes on cups in this case. The graffito beneath one handle refers to a woman called Anthyle, perhaps the same one praised on two later hydriai (water jars). The gist may be rendered loosely as "Anthyle, up yours."
