Youth and woman at tomb The depiction of a stele (grave monument) shows how funerary vases like this one were used. On the stepped plinth there are five standard lekythoi—two of which have toppled over—and one squat lekythos. In addition, there is a kylix (drinking cup) as well as two wreaths and a fillet (band). The mourners carry an aryballos and an alabastron, vases that probably contained perfumed oil.
