Terracotta miniature Panathenaic amphora
Bulas Group
ca. 400 BCE · Terracotta · Greek and Roman Art

Obverse, Athena Reverse, seated athlete The Bulas Group specialized in miniature versions of Panathenaic prize amphorae. The shape and the representation of Athena follow the models quite closely. The seated athlete holding what might be a fillet is a narrative vignette that would not have appeared on a prize vase.
