Terracotta jug and lid
Unknown
ca. 550 BCE · Terracotta · Greek and Roman Art

Such elaborate jugs, often with a carefully modeled human head on the neck, are typical products of Chiusi. The use of human heads is reminiscent of the so-called canopic urns, another major product of Chiusi, used as containers for cremated remains.
