Glass lid
Unknown
1st century CE · Glass · Greek and Roman Art

Translucent blue green. Disk-shaped, slightly concave fragment with thick, double fold around edge. Chipped, weathered edge to fold; pitting, dulling, and limy brown encrustation on upper, concave surface. This disk appears to have been made from a larger vessel, trimmed down to make a shallow concave lid. It may have been used to cover a glass cinerary urn.
