"Le Port de Cherbourg" — Petitpierre et Cie

The cones shown in the design are caissons being towed into the harbor to be sunk for the foundations of a dyke. On the largest one, with canopy, are the king and his party. The open boat at top is presumably a state barge for the use of the king. At the lower left corner is a view of town of Cherbourg.
