Quilt, Bars pattern
Amish maker
ca. 1900–1950 · Cotton · The American Wing

The quilt top is pieced of what appear to be hand-dyed fabrics in shades of gray-green, gray-blue, and deep red. The backing is a blue warp, white weft cotton. All the stitching, except the quilting, is done by sewing machine. The piece is somewhat crudely quilted. The center bars are diamond quilted, the inner border is quilted with a flower vine, and the outer border is rope quilted.
