The quilt is decorated with an appliqued central basket of flowers surrounded by two vine borders. The vines are of blue cotton with chintz flowers and leaves in shades of pink, blue, and brown. Each piece of appliqué is stitched down with white cotton thread in the herringbone stitch. The piece is quilted in an overall diamond grid.
