Candlestick
Louis C. Tiffany|Tiffany Studios
ca. 1902–10 · Bronze, glass · The American Wing

In 1898 Alvin J. Tuck was hired to supervise the metalwork production of Tiffany Studios. Although Tuck designed many of the candlesticks produced during his tenure, Tiffany himself conceived this pair. Each candlestick features brilliantly colored green and blue glass blown into a candleholder suspended upon a tall slender stem. The base displays the blossom of the wild carrot, or Queen Anne's lace, a favored motif.
