Box — Robert R. Jarvie

Jarvie left his position as an official in Chicago’s transportation department to devote himself to his work as a metalsmith in 1905. Beginning in 1912, he was invited to design prizes for the livestock shows held annually in and around Chicago. This covered box, which reflects his interest in Native American forms and motifs, was presented at the International Live Stock Exposition of 1916 to the "Local Combination Horse," Golden Lady, shown by Mrs. J. M. Harris.
