Dressing-table mirror — Unknown

An engraving by André-Charles Boulle (1642–1732), cabinetmaker to the French crown, depicts a mirror similar to this example, as does Jean-Marc Nattier’s portrait Madame Marsollier and Her Daughter of 1749, suggesting that luxurious boulle-work objects made during the time of Louis XIV remained fashionable long after his reign.
