Rosette
Unknown
second quarter 17th century, with 18th century additions · Gold, partly enameled and set with diamonds, emeralds, spinels, and pearls · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

This delicate rosette may have been part of a larger set that was sewn directly onto men’s and women’s clothing as decoration. The ornaments displayed above, now linked together to form necklaces, were once separate and would have been worn in a similar fashion.
