The fan-shaped boxes of Japanese lacquer in the collection of Augustus the Strong (1670–1733), elector of Saxony and king of Poland, were copied at the Meissen porcelain manufactory and displayed in the Throne Room at the elector’s Japanese Palace in Dresden.
