Set of hunting implements (Trousse)
Jakob Watzky
ca. 1650 · Silver, steel, staghorn, wood, leather · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

In addition to the heavy-bladed knife for cutting up game after the hunt, this set (trousse in French) includes a knife, a fork, and other implements in compartments in the scabbard. The scabbard mounts, decorated with hunting scenes, bear the initials of Prince-Elector Johann Georg I of Saxony (reigned 1611–56).
