The Execution of the Five Kings of the Amorites
Hans Resch
16th century · Lead-glazed earthenware (Hafnerware) · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

The elaborate tiled superstructure of stoves generally enlarged in the sixteenth century, giving the hofner (stove maker) the opportunity to make larger tiles of truly pictorial composition and artistic importance. Resch is one of the few known makers of such tiles in the important center of Salzburg.
